18th District Blood Drive
As some of you may have heard, the 18th District is teaming up with THE BLOOD CONNECTION to sponsor a year long competition between the 13 lodges of our district to see which lodge can donate or inspire the donation of the most blood, starting with a Kick-off blood drive from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM on December 4th in the Old Navy Parking Lot at Cherrydale Point Shopping Center.
WE NEED EVERY MASON's SUPPORT to help make this competition a success. You can help by donating blood at any of our events (up to once every 56 days), and/or by reaching out to family, friends, and neighbors to encourage THEM to donate blood at our events, and credit the donation to your lodge. You can also help your lodge schedule one or more blood drives during the year as part of the competition. This competition has been put together with the support of a committee composed of representatives from our various lodges. For details, you can contact the committee member from your lodge, or one of the other committee members on the attached contact list.
In addition to the satisfaction of driving as many blood donations as possible during a period of high need, and the bragging rights that come with winning the competition, we will also be earning charitable donations from THE BLOOD CONNECTION for each pint of blood donated during the competition (currently $20). This money will be donated by the 18th District to one or more worthy charities at the end of the competition. In response to a request from brethren who are not qualified to donate blood, cash donations will also accepted.
There will be a Blood Drive page on our 18th District Website where a calendar of blood drive events will be maintained, and information about the competition provided.

Walk-up blood donors are always welcome, but blood donation appointments are easy to make for your convenience, and they are appreciated to assure adequate staffing.
To make appointments, you can establish a personal donor account at http://www.thebloodconnection.org, or simply scan the QR code on one of our event posters (see below). Then search for our competition events using Sponsor Code 7461.
